Puppy Bowl 2026 is set. While 150 rescue pups from across the nation battle for the Lombarky Trophy, Sideline Reporter Emily Mae Heller is turning the spotlight to the real MVPs (Most Valuable Puppies) right here in Texas: the adoptable legends at God’s Dogs Rescue.
"I’ve been on the sidelines for a lot of fuzzy fumbles and illegal napping penalties," says Emily Mae Heller, Puppy Bowl Sideline Reporter. "But the real action isn't just on the field tomorrow—it’s at shelters like God’s Dogs Rescue. While you’re watching Team Ruff and Team Fluff trade touchdowns, I’m officially flagging you for ‘Unnecessary Loneliness’ if you don’t check out the roster of adoptable dogs waiting for their forever homes in Converse."

The Local "Home Team" Angle:
While the national broadcast features rough-and-tumble action, God’s Dogs Rescue is fielding its own team of champions. Known for rescuing stray and abandoned dogs from the streets of San Antonio and surrounding areas, God's Dogs Rescue has placed thousands of animals into loving homes.
"Tomorrow's game is about raising awareness," Heller added. "So after you watch the halftime show—which I hear features a couple of puppies in the spotlight this year—go to God's Dogs Rescue's website. You might just find a linebacker that fits perfectly on your couch."
