In the early 1980s, Dr. Joseph “Joe” Nishimoto returned to Hawaii from the mainland to practice medicine in Aiea and Pearl City. As the community grew, he envisioned a local, state-of-the-art hospital so Leeward families would not have to drive into town for medical care. The road to achieving that vision spanned eight years and took the efforts of many.
Pali Momi opened on July 31, 1989 and continues to provide award-winning care to thousands of patients annually in West Oahu.
