Chinatown, the tenth studio album by Thin Lizzy, was released in 1980. It introduced guitarist Snowy White, who would also perform on the next album as well as tour with Thin Lizzy between 1980 and 1982; he replaced Gary Moore as permanent guitarist.

Chinatown was a commercial success, reaching #10 on the UK Albums Chart and #16 on the US Billboard 200. It spawned the singles "Killer on the Loose" and "We Will Be Strong". The album was well-received by critics, with many praising White's guitar playing.

The album's title track is a tribute to the Chinatown district of London, where Thin Lizzy played many gigs in the early 1970s. The song is a fast-paced rocker with a catchy melody.
