⚔️ Another threat. Another defense. Another day at Big
Bear in 2026.

This morning a Red-Tailed Hawk strafed Jackie near the
nest. Red-Tailed Hawks (RTHA) are real raptor competitors
in this territory — smaller than Jackie but fast, sharp,
and willing to test eagle nests. They've strafed Shadow
before this season too (April 3 documented).

Watch this aerial encounter. The hawk dives. Jackie
responds. Wings deploy. Position adjusts. The Queen of
Big Bear does NOT back down.

Is Jackie in danger? Honestly — not really. A Red-Tailed
Hawk vs an adult bald eagle is a fight Jackie wins
basically every time. She's bigger. She's stronger. She
has nine seasons of territorial defense experience.

But the threat is REAL enough that Jackie has to respond.
Red-Tails are persistent. They're agile. And if she
ignores them, they'll keep coming.

So Jackie does what Jackie always does:
Answers the threat. Sends the hawk away. Returns to
Sandy and Luna in the nest like nothing happened. 👑

This is week TWO of nonstop territorial pressure for
this nest. Ravens. Juvenile eagle. Now hawks. The
attacks have not slowed down. And Jackie has not
stopped answering them. 💕

✅ Red-Tailed Hawk strafed Jackie
✅ Jackie responded — hawk pushed off
✅ Both chicks safe in nest throughout
✅ First flight in approximately 37 days
