As Nigeria heads toward the 2027 general elections, the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) is drawing a firm line in the sand, stating that Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso and his Kwankwasiya movement are no longer welcome in any merger talks. According to the party, Kwankwaso is no longer a member and cannot negotiate on its behalf.
Boniface Aniebonam, NNPP’s founder, clarified that while the party remains open to alliances, it will only pursue those that are lawful and mutually beneficial. With internal disputes lingering and INEC under pressure to clarify party leadership, the NNPP's stance underscores the fragility of opposition politics as the election cycle draws closer.
