Описание: Fish and fisheries are the intrinsic part of life of Andhra Pradesh fishermen from the past and play a vital role to generating employment, nutrition, earning currency and other aspects of the economy. The culture ponds, rivers and reservoirs are famous for producing huge amount of fish in various places from Srikakulam to Nellore districts. During monsoon season fishing activities are strengthened and a huge amount of fishes are harvested than the other seasons. As huge quantities of fresh fish are caught every day, much of them remain unsold because of shortage of customers. In freshwater fish culture ponds oxygen problems identified when more number of big fishes died at various pales, as a result big amount of post-harvest loss occurs. Bulk catches are destroyed at that time due to unavailability of processing and preservation facilities. Preparation of salt dry fishes is an eco-friendly method and it may consider as healthy food product. If prepared scientifically with attractive packaging for retail sale, these would add to the value products. It is need of the day that fishermen along with entrepreneurs come forward to produce dried salt fish. It would definitely capture the urban markets in India and women get more economically benefitted.
