“We decided that we wanted to make this video about “chosen family” and finding community in circus, a wish each of us have had in the past and has come true, so we got together and figured out what skills we could all bring to the table. We worked on a plan for the video and then got to creating. It was important to us that even the solo disciplines had moments with more than one person, to show how circus can always be a collaborative art form. We struggled a bit with scheduling everyone and some shoot days not everyone could make it, but we did our best and we think we made something quite beautiful that showcases the National Centre for Circus Arts' community.”

“Nous avons décidé que nous voulions faire cette vidéo sur la “famille choisie” et le fait de trouver une communauté dans le cirque - un souhait que chacun·e d'entre nous a eu dans le passé et qui s'est réalisé. Alors, nous nous sommes réuni·es et nous avons déterminé les compétences que nous pouvions tou·tes apporter. Il était important pour nous que même les disciplines en solo aient des moments avec plus d'une personne, pour montrer comment le cirque peut toujours être un art collaboratif. Nous avons eu un peu de mal à nous organiser avec tout le monde, et certains jours de tournage, tout le monde ne pouvait pas venir. Mais nous avons fait de notre mieux et nous pensons que nous avons fait quelque chose d'assez beau, qui met en valeur la communauté du National Centre for Circus Arts.”
