CUTTING THE ROOF on my Land Cruiser! - Restoring and installing a Campteq Pop-Top

Описание: This film is a documentation of the process of converting our beloved 1993 Toyota HDJ80 Land Cruiser into a proper pop-top camper. Campteq has been around for over a decade hand building these amazing aluminum pop-tops for all sorts of Land Cruisers. I was lucky enough to find one used and removed from its previous vehicle locally, ready for a restoration and refresh.

I spent about a week removing old Sikaflex, cleaning, sanding, grinding, and polishing the top before it was ready to install.

Once it was ready, I brought the top and truck to the legendary Basil's Garage in Vista, CA and we got to work. Eric (campteq himself) and the Basil's Garage team were instrumental in making this come together over the course of two days. As scary as the process of CUTTING THE ROOF OFF is, I am extremely happy with the end result and the utility of the Land Cruiser has grown exponentially.
