Yamaha R1 Intake Flap Removal & Delete! Today we get to work on the Yamaha R1 once again and remove the restricting intake flap. This is a lengthy but not terribly difficult job. My hope is with this how to remove intake flap video will be helpful with everyone. The intake flap on the yamaha r1 restricts the air intake until higher rpm's are throttles are reached. This reduces low end torque and restricts your bike's ability to breathe through the intake. This simple airbox mod is crucial to get the most power out of your bike and get ready for an ecu flash or tune. I guess some also consider this an intake flap delete, but all in all intake flap delete or intake flap removal is the same. This mod also improves the air that flows into your yamaha air filter. Any additional air flowing into your air filter with added fuel equals more power!
