This video documents a serious warehouse fire near Poznań, Poland, where a self-ignited electric scooter lithium battery triggered a rapidly escalating fire inside a logistics facility.
What starts as a pallet fire quickly develops into a lithium fire, producing intense heat, toxic smoke, and uncontrollable fire spread. In the footage, an employee attempts to stop the fire using a traditional fire extinguisher, without proper PPE, and without success. This highlights a critical and common gap between equipment availability and real-world fire response capability.
Lithium battery fires behave very differently from conventional fires. Once thermal runaway starts, standard extinguishers are often ineffective, and unprotected personnel are exposed to severe risk from toxic gases and heat.
This incident clearly shows why modern warehouses and logistics centers must rethink lithium fire prevention and first-response strategies.
Key lessons from this fire:
• Pallet fires involving lithium batteries escalate extremely fast
• Fire extinguishers alone are often insufficient in lithium fires
• Lack of proper PPE puts employees at serious risk
• Early containment is critical to prevent catastrophic losses
Lithium fire blankets are designed to contain heat, suppress flames, and limit toxic smoke in the critical early phase of a fire. Used correctly, they can prevent fire spread and buy time for safe evacuation and emergency response.
Bridgehill fire blankets are used globally in logistics centers, warehouses, and industrial environments as part of both proactive and reactive lithium fire prevention strategies.
This video is shared for training, awareness, and prevention, not blame.
Fire safety should never be a reaction to disaster.
It should be a decision made before the next incident.
