Final Fantasy 16 is set to launch in June 2023 for the PS5. While I’m not all that excited for this entry in my favorite video game series, part of the reason for this is that its not a classic turn-based RPG. Producer Naoki Yoshida had made some interesting comments about this, and turn-based RPGs in general. I wanted to talk about my thoughts on Final Fantasy 16, how they compare to other of SquareEnix' current turn-based RPGs, and how successful these games are currently.
