Once one of the largest wineries in the country, Lonz Winery stood as the centerpiece of island life under George Lonz — a destination filled with music, celebration, and visitors from across the Great Lakes region. But behind the beauty and success, tragedy, loss, and conflict would eventually reshape the property’s legacy.

Through an on-site interview with island resident and tour guide Robert Skul, we explore the winery’s complex history — from its early beginnings and devastating fires, to its decline following George Lonz’s death, and the tragic 2000 balcony collapse that permanently changed the site.

While the building now stands restored as a museum, reports of unexplained activity have persisted for decades. Footsteps in empty hallways. Voices where no one should be. And an overwhelming presence believed by some to remain in the cellar below.

As night falls, our team locks in and begins the investigation. A group session inside the winery quickly gives way to heightened tension during a dual Estes Method experiment. Later, Kyle enters the cellar alone — where what he experiences raises serious questions about whether something inside the winery wanted him there… or wanted him gone.

Is Lonz Winery simply holding onto the emotional weight of its past — or is something still actively guarding what was once its life’s work?
