Although colorectal cancer screening in Canada typically begins at age 50 for those at average risk, more younger adults are being diagnosed—often at later stages, when the disease is harder to treat.
This Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, Colorectal Cancer Canada is calling on health authorities across the country to lower the screening age to 45 to help detect cancer earlier and improve outcomes.
This national campaign also aims to raise awareness about the signs and symptoms of colorectal cancer, the importance of knowing your family medical history, and lifestyle factors that may increase risk.
