MALIBU, CA — A dramatic police pursuit ended in a multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of Canaan Road and Pacific Coast Highway around 7:30 PM on Friday, August 29, 2025, leaving three children injured and a suspect on the run. The male suspect, who stole a vehicle in Los Angeles containing three children, ages 9, 7, and 2, led California Highway Patrol and LASD Lost Hills sheriffs on a high-speed chase through Santa Monica and Pacific Palisades before crashing into multiple vehicles in Malibu.
After the collision, the suspect fled on foot, hopping barbed wire fences before being apprehended blocks away, shirtless and shoeless. The three children were reported in moderate condition and are being airlifted to a local hospital. Other individuals injured in the crash are receiving treatment from paramedics at the scene.
