In this episode, we practice Japanese listening with a focus on shopping culture. You will learn how to answer common questions at the register like "Do you have a point card?" or "Do you need a bag?". We also cover unique cultural quirks, like the "evening discount war" at supermarkets and why you get a white bag when trying on clothes!

🇯🇵 Cultural Notes & Trivia
The Onigiri Struggle: Opening a Japanese rice ball wrapper takes practice (1-2-3 steps!).
Supermarket Discounts: In the evening (around 7-8 PM), staff put yellow or red stickers on fresh food for discounts.
The "Face Cover": When trying on clothes, women (and sometimes men) must wear a white fabric cover over their head to prevent makeup from staining the clothes.
Self-Bagging (Sakkadai): At Japanese supermarkets, the cashier does not bag your groceries. You move your basket to a separate table to do it yourself.
