We woke up before sunrise on December 31st to explore Kyoto without the crowds and it was totally worth it! 🌅
We retraced our steps from our first night, starting at Yasaka Shrine, then made our way to the iconic pagoda streets and the entrance of Kiyomizu-dera, one of Kyoto’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites. After wandering through quiet paths and taking in those early morning vibes, we hopped on a bus to the famous Golden Pavilion (Kinkaku-ji).
Yes, the entire pavilion is covered in pure gold leaf. And yes, it’s just as breathtaking in person ✨
