Jed: This is my crew chief, my fuel transfer engineer, when they say groundman I laugh at that stuff. Its fuel transfer engineer, that's my boy right there. We're a team though, I'm not kidding you, it's 50/50 out here. Whatever you want to call him, I just fly the helicopter he is the operation.
Other than that, Airel Solutions Incorporated..we're the pioneers of the helicopter saw world. We've been doing it alot longer than anyone else out there, and me, I've been flying helicopters longer than any other companies out here.
Kenny: From day one Jed's been talking about 50/50, about how you guys are a team and how he couldn't do it without everyone. I'm amazed at everyone involved. I mean this is awesome. People watching these videos have said how dangerous this job is, but the teamwork is on point. They don't operate during deer season either.
Jed: That's correct, we take the first couple of days off to give the hunters a chance to get out there. Safety is our number one factor. Every morning we have a pre work briefing talking about what we're going to do that day, what we're going to coordinate, such as road closings and entrances and exits and so forth. Then at the end of the day we brief again and discuss what we did good that day and then what we can do better tomorrow.
Another way of safety is, that prior to the air saw coming in, the local forester will send out notifications to home owners via phone, mail, and or newspaper. Lots of coordinating. My main job is to keep the saw in the air. Maintaining it, and even driving the support truck around, finding safe places to land, and talking to alot of cool people.
Kenny: I'm amazed, I was amazed the first time I saw you guys 2 years ago, and I'm still amazed now. Wow!
