Ingredients and recipe below:
INGREDIENTS
For marination
Kallumakaaya or mussels. 700 gm (without shell)
Turmeric powder 1/4 tbsp
Chilly powder 2 tbsp
Water. As required
Other ingredients
Garlic. 15 nos
Ginger. 1 medium-sized
Green chillies. 2 nos
Asafetida/kaayam. 1 piece finely grinded
Chilly powder+Kashmiri chilli powder -3 heaped tbspns
Vinegar. 3/4 cup
Oil 5 tbspn
PREPARATION
1. CLEAN AND BOIL THE MUSSELS TILL SHELL SNAPS OPEN
2. CLEAN,WASH AND DRAIN THE MUSSEL FLESH
3. MARINATE AND KEEP ASIDE FOR 30 MINUTES
4. FRY MUSSELS TILL GOLDEN BROWN
5. IN THE OIL USED FOR FRYING MUSSELS,STIR FRY CHOPPED GARLIC CLOVES,GINGER AND GREEN CHILLIES
6. ADD ASAFOETIDA POWDER AND LOWER THE FLAME
7. ADD CHILLY POWDER AND VINEGAR
8. TURN OFF THE FLAME AND LET CONCOCTION COOL TO ROOM TEMPERATURE
9. ADD FRIED MUSSELS TO THIS AND MIX THOROUGHLY
10.ENJOY YOUR TASTY PICKLE WITH RICE OR ROTI
NB: PICKLE TASTES BEST IF LET STAY FOR 3-4 DAYS.
