Born in Peterborough, England, Bell began singing in a church choir and founded the legendary synth duo Erasure with Vince Clarke in 1985. He became an openly homosexual pop icon, while Erasure is known for their self-ironic, queer style and a number of hit records such as "A Little Respect", "Always", "Love to Hate You", "Sometimes", "Oh L'Amour" or their Abba covers "Take A Chance on Me" and "Lay All Your Love on Me".
During the Brexit era and the anti-liberal backlash culture that went with it, Signed Media spoke to Andy about the good and bad sides of British culture: What makes Great Britain "great" and why is it struggling with its identity?
