Impressions/observations during the test drive:
Overall, the exterior design of this generation of the Lancer is simple and minimalist. It is not like the recent new cars right now which have overly aggressive angles and lines in their designs. The design is functional, but not boring - it is still distinctively a Lancer EX. Moving over into the interior, the materials used are more on the durable ones, rather than premium ones which is not a bad thing anyway.
The engine of this vehicle is just adequate for what it is - not too weak, not too powerful. It is not boring too since it still has some nice sounds when accelerating. According to the owner, this vehicle is also good to drive at highway speeds, which means it is not underpowered. The steering of this car has some good weight and feedback, unlike some modern cars wherein the steering is too light and vague already. With that said, it is still easy to turn the car in tight and slow maneuvers which makes it good for city driving as well. The accelerator and brake pedals respond well enough to the driver's inputs. It is noticeable that the brake pedal is a little bit stiff and requires more input to press down, but it is still easy to use. The transmission shifts smoothly enough which helps ride comfort.
