Legendary Roman statesman Cicero spent his entire life trying to restore the Roman Constitution, to no avail. He was also a prolific writer who left us books of rhetoric, orations, philosophical and political treatises as well as private correspondence. He was perhaps the greatest Roman orator of all time and his views on politics contain lessons that are valuable even today, in the 21st century.
