Episode: "Hide & Q"
Whilst running at high warp to aid an Earth colony in distress, the Enterprise is halted by a visit from Q. Boasting an irreverence for Captain Picard's motivation to complete his rescue mission, Q insists that mission take second place to a mission of his own; to explore how Commander Riker will behave once he has been given the power of the Q.
In a somewhat juvenile display (could be why we love him so! :-D) Q makes a pointless wager with Picard over whether or not Riker will accept Q's gift of the power of the Q. What then follows is our first look at Riker trying out the ultimate gift for the first time.
