Part of a series of videos I'm creating for absolute beginners, let's learn to watercolour paint, is really about using what you have already and trying step by step from the very beginning with guided exercises, it doesn't matter which one you choose to start with, each builds skills and confidence in the medium, so choose what you like out of the series

I've seen hundreds of you tube videos that show the basics for an absolute beginner, and showing you all the basics in one go is overwhelming. I've been teaching watercolour 15 years and I know what actually works and that's little chunks you practice and build upon, and my tutorials give you just that, they are simple, but will build your confidence level and over time you'll remember little bits and build your own knowledge of watercolour and most importantly what works for you. So please join me in exploring my tutorials and finding your way with watercolour.

I'm using watercolour postcard sized paper and a small set of Cotman pans to create very simple and easy watercolours to start to develop the skills needed to work on more complex pieces, once you have the basics you can scale up to my beginners section.

I don't enforce options in materials, most of you will have found me because you have the gear and after an attempt or 2, realise you have no idea and this is absolutely NORMAL! watercolour is the hardest medium to crack but also the most versatile, atmospheric and rewarding and it's why I love it so much. Please watch learn and ask questions in comments.

If you want options then here's some decent ones that are affordable, I do use a cotton paper but some of these tutorials are on wood pulp paper too, again it's about finding what works for you.
