‘Remarkable’: Bishop stabbed in Sydney church attack calls for prayers for attacker

Cumberland Councillor Steve Christou has praised the Bishop who was the victim of Monday night’s stabbing, for his “forgiving and loving” nature as he called for people to pray for his attacker following the terrifying incident.
The religious leader was stabbed multiple times at his pulpit by a teenager in Southwest Sydney.
Multiple people are reportedly being treated in hospital for injuries relating to the attack.
“It just shows a remarkable faith of the man, and how forgiving and loving he is,” Mr Christou told Sky News Australia.
“Even after being viciously attacked he is able to get up and pray for his alleged attacker.
“And ask people to basically forgive and leave this young man alone while the police dealt with him.”
