She made her debut as a child actress at a very young age. She landed a regular role in the series The Invisible Man (1958–1959), playing the protagonist's niece. From 1967 to 1968, she played Victoria Waterfield, companion of the Second Doctor (Patrick Troughton). This was one of the roles that made her most popular among fans of British science fiction. She also worked in theatre and other television productions, including Danger UXB. She studied at the Italia Conti Stage School, one of the most prestigious drama schools in the United Kingdom. She died on 21 July 2017 in Frinton-on-Sea, Essex, at the age of 69.
