Singapore's manufacturing activity expands in September for first time in six months

Описание: Singapore's manufacturing activity expanded in September, following six straight months of contraction. The Purchasing Managers' Index inched up 0.2 points to 50.1. A reading above 50 indicates expansion. The Singapore Institute of Purchasing and Materials Management said the expansion is due to a combination of slower contractions in new orders and inventory, coupled with faster expansion of factory output and employment. The electronics sector, however, continued to contract for the 14th month.
