Apple Health automatically syncs with Apple Watch once the two devices are paired, allowing you to track metrics like steps, workouts, heart rate, and more in one place. The sync process happens in the background, but you need to make sure your Apple Watch and iPhone are correctly connected and set up for data sharing.
To get started, ensure Bluetooth is enabled on both your iPhone and Apple Watch. Open the Watch app on your iPhone, tap “All Watches” at the top left if you have more than one, and confirm that your watch is paired with your phone. Once paired, the Apple Watch will automatically send health and fitness data to the Health app on your iPhone.
To verify syncing in Apple Health, open the Health app and tap the “Sharing” tab or go to your profile by selecting the profile icon in the top right corner. Under your profile settings, tap “Devices” to see a list of connected devices. Your Apple Watch should appear here if it’s paired. Tap on it to view available data categories, then make sure the health metrics you want—such as steps, heart rate, and activity—are enabled for syncing.
You can also confirm app permissions by scrolling to “Privacy” “Apps” in your profile and ensuring Apple Watch data is allowed to be used in Health. From this point onward, your Apple Watch will automatically share its health readings with the Apple Health app without any additional manual syncing required.
