In this video I build a Yoshimura-inspired race swingarm for a Suzuki GSX-R Slabside 1987.
Starting with a stock GSX-R swingarm, I fabricate aluminum braces from sheet metal and TIG weld them in place to strengthen the structure for racing use.
This type of reinforcement was commonly seen on Yoshimura race bikes in the late 1980s, where additional bracing helped improve swingarm stiffness and stability under hard acceleration and cornering.
The braces are shaped from aluminum sheet metal and carefully fitted before TIG welding them to the original swingarm.
