Although he might have called it his first holiday in 10 years, Saba Tsereteli’s extravagant appearance is still very much an art residency.
As co-founder of @Artistania, puppet maker, and conceptual artist, Saba’s daily work doesn’t reveal what one might encounter when meeting him outside of Berlin.
His routine here consisted of aloe vera and local clay hair and face masks, which he treated as a sacred ritual, taking time to apply it and letting it dry for hours in the sun.
Someone usually dressed in an elegant 1920s suit was most often seen in Las Selvas, covered in red clay and wearing only underpants.
He left us with a tutorial on natural body care and a mud-bath ritual at the hidden waterfalls in the area.
