In 2013, nearly four years after the McStay family disappeared from their home in Fallbrook, California, their remains were discovered in shallow graves in the Mojave Desert.
Joseph McStay, his wife Summer, and their two young sons Gianni and Joseph Jr. had vanished without a trace in February 2010.
For years, investigators believed the family had voluntarily crossed the border into Mexico. But the discovery of the graves changed everything.
In Part Two of the McStay Family Murders, we examine the investigation that followed the desert discovery and the case that prosecutors built against Joseph McStay’s business associate, Chase Merritt.
