In this video, we explore the beginnings of the “Trade Union Debate”, a conflict amongst the upper leadership of the Communist Party which broke out from approximately 1919 to 1921. The debate pitted Lenin and Trotsky against each other, ripping the leadership near completely in half, and sparking an immense “party crisis” the likes of which the Bolsheviks had never before seen.
