No visit to Cairns in Tropical North Queensland would be complete without heading into the Atherton Tablelands to explore the rainforest village of Kuranda. In this video we take you on board the historic Kuranda Scenic Railway, which operates between Cairns and Kuranda twice daily. We travel up to Kuranda in Heritage Class, and back in Gold Class — giving you a taste of both levels of service.

Journeying up the Gillies mountain range by rail offers epic views, and the Kuranda Scenic Railway's onboard commentary shares the story of the construction of the line in the late 1800s.
