Today, we gather in love and remembrance to celebrate the remarkable life of Ms. Gwendolyn Jacques Fearon Jackson, who transitioned peacefully just days before her 100th birthday. Born June 7, 1925, in Kellits, Clarendon, Jamaica, and called home on June 1, 2025, Ms. Jackson’s life was a century-long testimony to faith, elegance, resilience, and love.
You only meet a Gwen Jackson once in your lifetime—if you’re lucky.
She was style, substance, and soul. A woman of deep faith and bold grace, whose energy and warmth could light up every room. She made people feel seen, cherished, and above all—loved.
From her early days as a pastor’s daughter, Gwen was rooted in spiritual strength that guided her through every season. A gifted cosmetologist, entrepreneur, and mentor, she touched lives in Kingston, Montego Bay, Brooklyn, and Queens—uplifting others not just with her hands, but with her heart. She styled hair, yes—but she also restored confidence, mentored generations, and built salons that became sacred spaces of beauty and self-worth.
She was a devoted wife to the late Donald Jackson, a loving mother to Edmond, Jean, Donny, and Leighton, a proud grandmother and great-grandmother, a steadfast sister and aunt, and a spiritual rock to all who knew her. She danced through life—literally—winning competitions with her beloved Donald, cycling with friends, and exploring the world with style, always reminding us that life was meant to be lived fully.
She never left the house without turning heads.
Hair laid. Nails polished. Heels high. Spirit higher.
Her kindness was legendary, her wit unmatched, her cooking unforgettable, and her faith unwavering. Gwen believed in showing up for people—with a card, a call, a meal, a memory. She lifted others with her love and never stopped giving, even supporting Mustard Seed Communities in her later years.
Even in her final days, Gwen radiated joy, greeting those around her with a smile and her signature blessing:
“I love you—God bless you.”
We will never forget the light she brought to our lives.
🕊️ “Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.” — Matthew 5:8
