Creating a pixel art comic stories of four pages on retro hardware. This video shows the preparation work to upgrade an Atari Mega STE (4MB RAM, 16MHz CPU) to exchange data with modern devices, use a modern display and... be a bit quieter with a new fan. This is a detailed list of all the adaptations:
I replaced the broken disk drive with an HxC drive,
removed the SCSI harddisk so that the UltraSatan works from the external ACSI port
replaced the fan with a new quiet one,
attached a PS/2 mouse adapter
attached a monitor switcher,
added an RGB-to-VGA lead for the monochrome graphics mode,
used the Framemeister Mini for color graphics mode upscaling,
attached the NetUSBee Lite for LAN connectivity,
and attached an ArtPad graphics tablet.
Now that the main tool for the project is ready, the next video will show the first concepts of the actual pixel art comic.
The music is from the Dynamite Demo by Unit 17 (played on an Atari STE).
