Before the American Revolution, a different conflict divided the colonies and set the stage for tension between the colonies and Great Britain. Originally a land struggle between European powers, the French and Indian War provoked resentment toward Great Britain.
In this virtual field trip, we will investigate the long-reaching effects of the French and Indian War in order to better understand its powerful relationship to the Revolutionary War.
Troy Huber is a museum educator living and working in Northern Virginia. He grew up in a military family and spent much of his childhood overseas, sparking a great love of history that has lasted ever since. He gained his bachelor’s degree at Minot State University in North Dakota and his master’s degree in ancient and classical history at American Military University in West Virginia.
Virtual Field Trips invite middle and high school students to learn more about U.S. Army history through artifacts, primary sources, and personal Soldiers’ Stories, without leaving their desks.
