Michelle Wong, MD, MSc, MPH, FRCPC is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the University of British Columbia (UBC) Department of Medicine, a nephrologist, and a clinical researcher at BC Renal in Vancouver, Canada. After completing her clinical training at UBC and University of Alberta, she did a hemodialysis research fellowship at the Renal Research Institute in New York and then worked with the Dialysis Outcomes and Practice Patterns Study (DOPPS) program at the Arbor Research Collaborative for Health in Ann Arbor. Her research focuses on complications of advanced CKD, including anemia and malnutrition/protein-energy wasting. She currently collaborates with the BC Renal Dietitians Practice Group on research regarding oral nutritional supplement use among kidney patients in British Columbia. As part of the inaugural cohort of the International Society of Nephrology Emerging Leaders Program, her focus is on building research collaborations between nephrologists and allied health.
This channel is the beginning of one of the many initiatives to be undertaken by the Africa Healthcare Network(AHN) in the domain of education, training and research in Nephrology in the African continent.
