This meeting is about the eco sensitive zone, the buffer zone that has been conceptualize. But before I speak about the buffer zone, eco sensitive zone. I want to make one thing quite clear. Both the BJP & the CPI(M) believe in violence. In their ideology violence is deeply imbedded. They think that by being violent by threatening they can shape people’s behaviour. They both think by acting violently they can frighten people. Because they lack courage, they think that violence can shape other people’s behaviour. But that is not the case, because there are may people whose behaviour cannot be shaped by violence & by threats.

There is confusion in the mind of the PM & CPI(M) (3:23)
The Govt of India, the prime minister thinks that by making me sit in ED for 5 days I will change my behaviour. This is the confusion in the mind of the Prime Minister and same way CPI(M) thinks that by breaking my office, I’ll change my behaviour.

The behaviour is shaped by affection for the people (4:50)
It is shaped by affection for the toiling masses of this country - it can never be shaped by my opponents or my enemies.

The buffer zone is very important issue for the people of Wayanad (5:25)
The buffer zone very important issue for the people of Wayanad. Last year, I urged the environment minister to address the concern of local communities when the line was being demarcated around Wayanad wildlife sanctuary. I was told the demarcations happened based on proposal sent by Govt of Kerala in 2019. As soon as SC judgement was delivered, I wrote to the CM to speak to the Govt at the centre. Been almost one month, I have not been given any reassurance by the state Govt regarding the steps they have taken. I wrote to the PM as well apprising him of the concerns of the local communities of Wayanad.

CM should act in the interest of the people of Wayanad (8:21)
There’s complete clarity in the UDF, we don’t want a buffer zone which includes inhabited areas - this has been our position from the very beginning. The LDF, the CM should stop spreading confusion. Breaking my office is not going to make difference to anything. The ball is in the court of the CM, he has been elected to look after the interest of the people of Kerala. So he should act in the interest of the people of Wayanad. Why the people of Wayanad should suffer because of the actions of the LDF Govt. I hope the LDF Govt takes the steps required to solve the issues created by them in the first place.

I’m very clear in my mind, if the LDF Govt proceeds including inhabits area in buffer area the Congress and UDF will fight them. We don’t believe in violence but will non-violently resist the CM and PM and ensure that the interest of the people of Wayanad is protected.

We are not going to allow inhabited areas to be a part of the buffer zone and the CM should be very clear that it is not just the UDF and Congress - it is the people of Wayanad who are against this decision.

Every single person in Wayanad will be resisting this action. I know the people of Wayanad they are not scared of threats and violence. We stopped the three farm laws, PM had to take those laws back. We will stop this decision as well.
