I built three cities from scratch to find out.

To make the comparison as fair as possible, I kept the conditions as similar as I could: the same map, similar city size and population, similar zoning distribution, the same road capacity and external highway connections, and the same basic services.

And there is no public transport. Every citizen has to rely on the road network.
