When a product is bioavailable, it means that your system absorbs it easily. When a product isn’t bioavailable, it can go in and out of your system without having any significant effects.

When it comes to CBD products, some are more bioavailable than others.

For example, smoking or vaping CBD makes it very easy for your body to process the molecule. Over 50% of the CBD you take in that way enters your system.

Products that you apply to the skin also have good bioavailability. Up to 40% of the CBD it contains gets into your system.

With other products like edibles, bioavailability is a lot lower. This is because your digestive organs recognize CBD as a foreign substance and try to stop it from entering your system. Less than 15% of the CBD you take in that way will enter your bloodstream and take effect.

Although these products are less bioavailable, they can have other benefits. For example, products that go through the digestive tract are great for those with stomach pain and digestive conditions.
