New Pokémon Snap, a sequel to the 1999 Nintendo 64 Pokémon Snap, is a first-person photography game set in the Lental region. Players, as a budding photographer, assist Professor Mirror and assistants Rita and Phil in researching the Illumina phenomenon, where Pokémon and plants glow. Aboard the NEO-ONE hovercraft, players travel on-rails through diverse ecosystems (jungles, deserts, beaches) across six islands (Florio, Belusylva, Maricopia, Voluca, Durice, Aurus) to photograph 234 Pokémon for a Photodex. Tools like fluffruit (to lure Pokémon), Illumina orbs (to trigger glowing states), melodies, and scanning coax unique behaviors. Photos are scored (1–4 stars) based on pose, size, and rarity, earning Expedition Points to unlock new courses and Research Levels. A free August 2021 update added three courses (Secret Side Path, Mightywide River, Barren Badlands) and 20 Pokémon. Players can edit photos (brightness, filters) and share them online (Nintendo Switch Online required). No multiplayer; single-player focus with online rankings.Key Features: 234 Pokémon across 20+ courses (day/night variants)
