Power Rangers Team Up Music Video We Need a Hero Remake

Here’s a remake of what still remains one of my all-time favorite videos I’ve done for Power Rangers. Since I have a DVD ripper now, I remade it from the ground up instead of just posting the previous version of this video.

Without a doubt one of the biggest advantages the post-Zordon era has is the team-ups. No matter how bad they are, it’s always cool to see a previous team back in action even if all they do is fight. Here are my top 5 team-ups that I’ve seen so far (I haven’t seen the Dino Thunder/Ninja Storm team-up yet). Though if you want to get technical and count Rangers of Both Worlds as a team-up even though it’s part of the Zordon era, this is really 5 of my top 6 team-ups. For the record, Zeo’s team-up is my third favorite.

Lost Galaxy - To the Tenth Power/Power of Pink/Protect the Quasar Saber: The first time the team-ups became an annual thing, and what a fantastic way to kick them off. This was the arc that made me a regular viewer of Lost Galaxy. The first part alone was awesome, but we all know about the big game changer that occurred during the next 2 episodes. Although this series isn’t as good as its Sentai counterpart, I can still watch it because it’s not a complete clone of Gingaman. Seriously, they haven’t done anything like that with a main ranger for a long time. They only seem to do it to Sixth Rangers now. Anyways, this is my second favorite team-up.

Time Force – Time For Lightspeed: My least favorite team-up here. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still one of the better if not the best episodes of Time Force (and certainly much better than the previous team-up Trakeena’s Revenge, which is still the worst PR team-up I’ve seen). I just wish it was 2 parts to show the characters properly interacting with each other.

Wild Force – Reinforcements From The Future Parts 1 and 2: I have to admit, Wild Force is going down as my least favorite Saban season and possibly my least favorite of the first 17 seasons. But despite that, this series can claim that it has my absolute #1 favorite Power Rangers team-up ever. Time Force is one of my favorite Power Rangers series, and they went the extra mile for bringing them back in this crossover. They’re not just back for another episode; the writers actually continue their story. Amongst other things, it was really nice to see Lucas and Nadira get together. Adding to the greatness is the fact that Gaoranger never had an actual crossover with Timeranger, opting instead for teaming up with 5 characters from 5 different Sentai teams; and not a single representative from Timeranger (apart from TimeRed briefly showing up along with the other 23 Red Sentai members). Since it was the 25th Sentai series they wanted to make the VS movie into a special anniversary for Sentai as a whole. So yeah, this is one thing Gaoranger doesn’t have. Admittedly, if they had done this in Gaoranger then they probably would have made it better but since we’ll never see it this is a welcome substitute.

Wild Force – Forever Red: Something else you won’t see in Gaoranger is this team-up between all the reds. Granted, they did something like this in the VS movie but to be honest that part wasn’t as good as this episode. Admittedly, this could have been better but considering Disney was funding the series at this point it’s lucky this ever got made at all. Just seeing all these guys together is worth the price of admission.

Operation Overdrive – Once a Ranger Parts 1 and 2: I admit it; I still really like Operation Overdrive. It’s not as good as its Sentai counterpart Boukenger, but it still needs more love as I think it is far from the worst Power Rangers series. I watched the first 6 episodes and overall wasn’t impressed although I really liked the first 2. I jumped to Once a Ranger. I was looking forward to it, and it did not disappoint. Not only was it superior to all the episodes I had seen previously, the quality continued through the next 4 episodes. I looked forward to going through the rest of the series when it was released on the megaset with seasons 13-17, and on the whole I really enjoyed it. Anyways, I thought that this team-up was really good. It had a nice variety of past Rangers and some really exciting action.

I rank this as one of my all-time favorites because I’m not just combining all those awesome episodes into one video, this was more challenging than some of Ron Wasserman’s other songs because of that bit in the middle where it slows down. I had to switch over from action to my favorite character moments from these episodes then back to action scenes to match the music. While challenging, it made the final product all the more satisfying. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
