What is OCCUPY CANNES?
"Occupy Cannes" follows legendary cult filmmaker Lloyd Kaufman ("The Toxic Avenger") and the renegade Troma Team as they storm the Cannes Film Festival to fight for truly independent cinema. Equally punk as it is heartfelt the film is a love letter to outsider art and a battle cry against industry conformity.
I had the honor to be surrounded by my idol and legendary Lloyd Kaufman, his daughter Lily Hayes Kauman (filmmaker) & Catherine Corcoran (Terrifier, Return to Nuke 'Em High), we are deep diving into 50 years of unapologetic and uncompromising cinema! We are also deep diving into Lily Hayes Kaufman's documentary ''OCCUPY CANNES'', the brutal reality of independant filmmaking today, and the absolute necessity of breaking the rules. An authentic, unfiltered conversation with independant legends.
This interview was shot during the 29th edition of Fantasia International Film Festival. Unfortunaly, my hard drive blew up and it took months for a tech company to get my coverage back!!! I am so happy to share this interview with you all!
