Engine Rod Knock Vs. Piston Slap - Take a listen to both!

Описание: One of my family members cars recently bit the dust and developed a rod knock... and speak of the devil, I own another car that has piston slap upon start up!

Now I have filmed them both, and have combined them into one video to be long remembered! Bua ha ha ha!

.....In seriousness though, if you have a weird engine noise that has developed and are curious to hear examples of both, then this video is for you.

A lot of the time a dull thunking or ticking sound from the bottom of the motor is piston slap, which is especially common on GM V8s of the 2000's.... rod knock on the other hand, is loud as hell and will wake up the neighbors.

I forgot to reiterate that Piston slap CAN be fixed by rebuilding the engine, but typically doesn't negatively effect how the engine runs, so why worry?
