Love Pasta? This New Restaurant In Lahore Might Just Be Heaven For You

Pasta has been a menu item at several restaurants in Lahore, but we've only seen a few, common varieties despite the fact that there are over 350 types made around the world. For those that savor pasta, there hasn't been much innovation and the options available can most politely be described as basic. That could possibly be changing, with the introduction of a new restaurant in Lahore, Pasta La Vista.

With the focus on different tastes as well as varieties, Pasta La Vista is trying to do its part in offering its customers something unique. They want to get away from using commercial pasta (off the rack) that is boiled, sometimes overcooked and then served up with a price tag that is unjustified.

Their approach: make your own pasta. Rather than buying pasta available in the stores, they're making their own pasta. But that's not all. They're also going to be making their own sauces to maintain the consistency in their food; you can expect a tomato sauce made from Italian tomatoes.

The menu is concise and doesn't want to sell everything in the world

This is always something to be appreciated. So many restaurants focus on offering extensive menus that keep on going, often overwhelming customers with choices. At the same time, the restaurant is spread across the board trying to make so many dishes that they inevitably compromise on the quality.

Pasta La Vista is going to keep its menu small with 9-10 mains. This allows for them to maintain quality by focusing on lesser dishes, and also by making sure everything is prepared fresh for the customer. Let's just hope that customers in Lahore take to this.

They've incorporated several items like chicken, beef, lamb, shrimp into their items. Two vegetarian options are also available and according to the owner, there will be more soon. Some of the kinds of pasta offered here are gnocchi, ravioli, linguine, basil fettuccine and they're all made in-house. The only items not made in-house are the spaghetti and penne pasta, which require bigger and much more expensive equipment.

Tucked away in a quiet spot in S Block, DHFA, Phase 2, the place seems great for young adults, especially those in colleges and universities. A single sitting may cost you only 600-800 rupees on average which is pretty decent for a place that's sourcing quality ingredients, while also making their own pasta and sauce.

The restaurant can accommodate up to 25 people, so it isn't very large but the seating isn't too suffocating if that's the idea you got earlier on.
