Microsoft removed the Homegroup feature in the latest Windows 10 edition 1803

Windows 10 April Update 2018 has broken many peoples networks. Also having Microsoft remove the Homegroup hasn't been the greatest of ideas to come out of Redmond!

But don't worry this is easy to fix and doesn't need an MCSE qualification!

The main reason your shares are not working is due to Microsoft shutting down some of the startup services used for Home and Office networks.

These are in two main groups:
First, the Network publication protocols, and secondly the UPNP protocols for devices like the XBOX One and other network attached storage devices (NAS)

So here are the services that need to be told to start on booting up

Function Discovery Provider Host
Function Discovery Resource Publication

Most Home networks will work fine with just these two services started. Although, if you still are having trouble seeing devices or shares on your network, you can also start these services up.

SSDP Discovery
UPNP Device Host

There are other Services that can be enabled if you still can't see anything, like the DNS Host service which should be running anyway, but sometimes this can also be a problem, but less likely.
