Below link is the Law Commission Report 2011 - (check out 3.3 to 3.11) this shows that the Law Commission thought the existing approach was to lazy and that there should be a new more stringest 'reliability test' on the admissability of expert evidence in court - . However the government ignored this and did not put in place any new statutory test.
