Cleveland area Weather Impact Alert forecast: Lake snow & wind for New Year's Day

Описание: Your Greater Cleveland and Northeast Ohio weather forecast for January 1, 2025:

We are starting the new year with Weather Impact Alert days for Wednesday and Thursday due to the snow, cold and wind. Cold air has rushed in behind our latest system changing overnight rain to wet snow. Cold northwest winds will continue to blow developing lake effect snow showers through the day. Lake snow bands will be arriving before midday and continue through the overnight.

Lake Effect Snow Warnings are in effect for Cuyahoga, Lake, Geauga and Ashtabula counties until 7 PM Thursday. Lakeshore Ashtabula is under a Winter Weather Advisory until 7 PM Thursday. These warned areas could see 6-10 inches of snow, even higher totals will be possible in Geauga County or where snow bands persist. Advised areas could see up to 4"-8" by Thursday evening. The Cleveland metro could see 1"-3" through Thursday, higher amounts east of I-271.
