How does MagSafe work?📱
MagSafe is a series of magnets placed around the iPhone’s internal charging coil, which senses other MagSafe compatible accessories and snaps into place.
MagSafe charger takes at least 2 hours and 30 minutes to charge iPhone 13 Pro Max from 0 to 100%.
Apple added a ring of magnets around the Qi-based wireless charging coils, which allows for a close fit and faster charging speeds. Achieving 15W charging speeds requires Apple’s 20W power adapter or another appropriate 20W+ PD 3.0 charger.
MagSafe connector includes a USB-C cord that plugs into a power source. The charging time difference between the magnet and cable is minimal but noticeable if you’re in a hurry.
• PROS: small, convenient, wireless (kind of), great design
• CONS: slower charging, short cable not replaceable, doesn’t come with power adapter, pricey
