Dr. Lyla June Johnston gave a Goff Lecture titled “Indigenous Regenerative Food Systems” on November 5, 2025, on the University of Oklahoma (OU) campus in Norman, Oklahoma. The lecture was hosted by the Christopher C. Gibbs College of Architecture. Amy Leveno, assistant professor of Architecture at OU, introduced the lecture.
Dr. Lyla June Johnston (aka Lyla June) is an Indigenous musician, scholar, and community organizer of Diné (Navajo), Tsétsêhéstâhese (Cheyenne) and European lineages. Her messages focus on Indigenous rights, supporting youth, traditional land stewardship practices and healing inter-generational and inter-cultural trauma.
