Leaving Dong Van at 8:30 am and we headed for Dinh Vua Mèo (Hmong Palace). Managed to see a lot of beautiful scenery and rustic villages in the valleys on the way to the palace.
Surprised to meet Hmong King’s grandchildren as they are manning the stalls just outside the entrance of the Hmong King Palace. They also worked at the ticketing office, salesgirls, and tour guide.
Dinh Vua Mèo is located in the Sa Phin Valley. It was the palace of the Hmong kings who ruled large parts of Vietnam's northern Ha Giang province in the early 20th century. The Palace was transformed into a tourist site in 1993 after being acknowledged as a National historic relic.
Afterwards, we went to the house which was the Film Set of “Story of Pao”, located in Lung Cam Tren Village, Dong Van District, Ha Giang Province. This has become an attractive destination for visitors to the mountainous province. There is a beautiful buckwheat garden in front of the village - where you need to pay entrance fee for photo taking. You may also be invited by little girls in traditional costumes to have photos taken with them for a small fee.
Following that we proceeded to Lung Tum Linen Cooperative to see how they process hemp into fabric and how they make traditional Hmong crafts.
